The Green Tara Mantra, Om Ma Ni Pad Me Hum

The latest addition to my series of Soothing Mantra CDs.

Passed by the stall (where the Laughing Buddha is standing) beside the famous Waterloo street Guanyin Temple, the Green Tara Mantra:
" Om Ta Re   Tu Ta Re   Tu Re So Ha
with similar sentimental tune like the Maha Cundi Dharani CD, caught my attention.
It's stated that
Listening to the mantra can bring peace and purification to our body and mind;
Chanting the mantra can help get rid of all diseases, sufferings and evil thoughts.

It's a great Healing therapy mantra song. :-)

The 2nd piece on "Om Ma Ni Pad Me Hum" is also nice.:-)

Distributed by Celebrity Music Pte Ltd, Sang by Wang Ju.

Bodhicitta Music Gathering

It was a wonderful relaxing night by Bodhicitta, the Sin Yao equivalent for Buddhist Hymns at Taipei Buddhist Buddhist Centre. It was a small gathering with their reunion of 4 members (The 4th, the pianoist who just returned from the States was not caught in picture). The night was warmed up with a brother teaching us the Laughing Yoga followed by a nite of wonderful concert.

Some of what may just appear as a "so so" song while listening to the past CDs, actually comes alive and appreciation deepened with the unplugged live concert, enhanced further with explaination of the history of the songs and realising the group's amazing talent and passion in Buddhist music.

I am glad I had introduced their recent CD, The Maha Cundi Dharani to my friend who in turn informed me of this Music Gathering and I managed to attend despite work obstacles.
It was a really relaxing, energy recovering nite.
Looking forward to their next music gathering which they promised to have more in future...:-)
And Gratitude to Taipei Buddhist centre for providing the venue. :-)

大悲愿, 大悲咒

Was somehow feeling kind of restless, abit of "brain dead" on my way home the other day. I switched on my mp3 & somehow tuned to the songs that I had not listened for quite a while. Listening to the wonderful Buddhist songs and mantra from my favourite CDs from 嘹亮(Leow Liang: http://www.leowliang.com). Suddenly, I no longer felt restless but recharged with the blessings of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, Guanyin Pusa.

Among my favourites are the CDs on 大悲愿 and 大悲咒.

The wonderful verses of 大悲愿 reminds one of Bodhicitta and aspiration towards final goal of Nirvana.

Listening to the songs, one also feels motivated to strive on.
May all be able to practise with diligence and perfect as per above aspirations.
Amituofo.

嗡嗎呢唄美吽-南無觀世音菩薩

嗡嗎呢唄美吽南無觀世音菩薩。
無礙。
滅定業真言(童音集)

After a long search for a new tune of chanting "Om Mani Padme Hum with chanting of Guanyin Pusa" that I heard from a retreat, I finally found something similar from the 1st song of this album. Voices from the children ...very refreshing though I would still prefer that being sung by the Venerables (with more devotion put in from my fading memory of the retreat). Was told that for this tune of chanting, there wasn't the adult version and only sung in retreats (Fahui).
I do hope that the Venerables who had recently began participating in making of new albums for WSD for free distribution could have this in mind for their next album. :-)

This album comes in a series and can be found in most stores, but my favourite hunt for such Buddhist Cds is the 3rd level store at Spore Buddhist Lodge which opens only on Sundays, manned by a group of volunteers. The prices there are usually cheaper than what I see in the market, do visit it yourself to find the great discount you can get from there. :-)

And there is a new trolley cart stall near the main shrine that sells a variety of vegetarian tibits and biscuits. Do Look out for it...:-)
