Wisdom is to be free from delusions of ego, pride not influenced by delusion or illusion .
Without merit there is limited wisdom vice versa without wisdom there is long accumulation of merit.
Eg. Merit of offering water to someone to quest thirst has merit.
May this water be cause of enlightenment of all sentient beings.
With this wisdom way of offering and dedicating merits
Mahayana refuge is Adorn to accumulation of merit and wisdom.
Compassion is not mere sympathy but draws from understanding of Sunyata (emptiness)
Buddha is like Mother of child who has headache or delusions in their mind.
Mother will take care of the child though know the delusion in the child is not true.
Refuge in normal is like surrendering to or at someone better than you that is external .
Maha refuge
Eg. Laundry cleaning is for absence of temporary dirt, washing the dirt not buying of new clothes.
Taking refuge for absence of defilement.
Fundamental to acceptance that dirt is temporary.
Dirt is Not your nature or absolute truth.
Trust water is water so trust defilement is temporary.
Right view everything as phenomenon
Motivation to enlighten all sentient beings
Externally submission to the Triple Gems while internally compassion to all sentient beings
Fundamental Buddhism not same as other religion because of this view of all things are inherently

Rinpoche made good effort to distinguish Sthaviravada, Mahayana & Vajrayana.
He gave good examples such as pointing a glass of water as water to general audience, telling another
50 Mahayana audience that the glass of water is vodka and fewer Vajrayana audience that it contains
drugs.
However, he also maintained that the root is Sthaviravada, Stem is Mahayana and Flowers? Vajrayana
and if the latter two are not around, it is still fine but if the first is gone, the Foundation is gone and
Buddhism cannot survive...something along the line though he is marketing Mahayana and Vajrayana,
he did not deny the importance of Sthaviravada.
We all feel that Rinpoche had gave an excellent teachings and it is really recommended when the
Recordings are out by Siddhartha's intent to watch it again!

宗萨仁波切:这是个非常好的问题。佛教里有上师曾打过这样的比方:如果你手指里有根刺,你得需要另外一根刺,才能把这根刺取出来。所以,为了摆脱所有其它的执着,你需要保留一个执着——对证悟的执着,作为暂时的工具和途径。
一旦你真的证悟,那么即使是对证悟的执着,都会消失。我们知道,佛教里有“乘”的概念,“乘”就是“vehicle”(交通工具),一种工具和途径。当你乘坐一辆车到达了目的地,你就不需要停留在车里了,你自然会下车。

問:我們以菩提心幫助別人,但是有的時候會越搞越糟,怎麼樣用智慧的方式,以菩提心來幫助別人?
宗薩仁波切回答:
一直到我們能夠證得見道位,在這之前,我們不管做什麼,總是會給某些人惹麻煩。
第一,我們的智慧很不成熟,我們同時也沒有究竟的智慧。
第二,所謂方便呢,我們也沒有真正的方便的法門,只有說我們有關於方便,我們有這種概念罷了。
談到你在做什麼事的時候,或者你幫助別人的時候,不要讓人家不舒服,這其實非常不容易。比如講佛的十力其中有一個解發心力,就是能夠了解一切眾生的發心,這個是非常非常不容易的。像我在這邊講《入中論》,我沒有辦法知道每一個來參加人的發心,尤其是每一來參加人每一刻的發心也不一樣。有的人來參加可能是為了成佛,有的人只是為了躲雨。所以發心實際上是一個大學問。
所以,像我們這種菩薩,也就是受了菩薩戒的菩薩,在我們修道的過程裡面呢,在目前我們的狀況裡,最安全的一個修道的方法就是願菩提心。
龍欽巴有一本非常出名的著作,叫《龍欽七寶》,其中有一個叫“口訣寶”。他說在我們現在的程度,根本談不上去幫助別人。但是至少我們要有意願去幫助別人,因為我們現在有這樣的意願,至少能夠幫助我們不去傷害別人。龍欽巴的化身,等於他的轉世呢,是吉美靈巴,他有一句很有名的話:
一直到你能夠完完全全除掉自己自私的那一天,這之前你所謂幫助別人,只不過是演一場戲給別人看罷了。
