Detachment is the foot of meditation, it is taught.

Attachment to food and wealth disappears
於諸飲食財寶無繫念,

To the meditator who gives up ties to this life,
斷離此世貪網之行者,

Grant your blessing that attachment to ownership and honor cease.
無著名聞利養祈加持。

The lama opens the door to the profound oral teachings

To the meditator who always turns to him,

To the meditator who reflects upon the unobstructed play of the mind,

Grant your blessing that the inseparability of samsara and nirvana be realized.
證悟輪涅不二祈加持。

Through all my births, may I not be separated

From the perfect Lama and so enjoy the glory of the dharma.
受用殊勝吉祥之法教,

May I completely accomplish the qualities of the path and stages
五道十地功德悉圓滿,

And quickly attain the state of Vajradhara (awakened mind).

《問答錄》是杜松虔巴請教上師岡波巴的問答錄。本文中的「問」即杜松虔巴大師,「答」即岡波巴大師。這是實修的部分,請大家細心領會。
頂禮真善諸上師!
具勝加持僻靜地,
氣風趨入中脈處,
無念樂令得見義,
證此實義稟師尊。
問:一旦認出了夢境,醒來後要如何禪修?
答:醒來之後,去思維昨夜的夢和現在的顯相之間有什麼差別,這樣來禪修。其實是完全沒有差別的。
問:俄巴大師和他的弟子說,要禪修睡眠為法身,禪修夢境為報身。是這樣去禪修嗎?
答:睡眠是無明,怎麼能禪修它為法身呢?這就叫做「沒有禪修體驗而宜說的法」。在認出夢境後,辨認出法身明光,這才是禪修。此時,夢境、幻身,以及果的明光相容在一起,這就是融合。
問:臨終時,四大是如何收攝的?明相、增相、得相和明光的徵象是如何呢?
答:命終時,土大消融於水大,身體不能動彈;水大消融於火大,口鼻乾涸。此時,會生起明相,外在徵象是如同明月高照,內在徵象則如同螢火蟲一般。在八十種分別念中,由嗔恚而生的三十三種分別念止滅,風大消融於心識時,身體的溫度被收攝,生起增相,其外在徵象是如同皓日中天,內在徵象則如同燈火一般。
隨後,因貪欲而生的四十種分別念止滅,這時就會有空行前來接引修行者,或是閻王的使者來找罪業深重者。風輪壞滅時,向外吐的氣變長,向內吸的氣變短。得相的外在徵象是黑暗,內在徵象則如同燈火一般。
因愚痴而生的七種分別念斷滅。當只剩下體內的氣息時,頂門得自於父親的「吭」字坍塌,和臍部得自於母親的臍輪火本質,這兩個代表方便和智慧的種子字在心間遇合,屍體的色澤會持續一天、兩天、三天、四天或是五、六天。
隨後,即是果之明光。外在徵象是如同黎明曙光,內在徵象則如無雲晴空。此時,道之明光如果和果之明光相融,這種明光即是本來的自性明光,遠離一切妄念,充滿無漏之樂。顯相也顯現為樂的自性。顯相出現在地獄不會造成傷害,因為只有視顯相為痛苦才會形成束縛。顯相對佛陀不會有什麼幫助,因為顯相皆顯現為大樂,所以它們是解脫的。
