Mani Recitation Retreat 2010

Initiated by the Late Drubwang Konchok Norbu Rinpoche, this is the 10th Annual Mani Retreat in Singapore! and the 3rd year being held at Suntec.

This year, it is led by
His Eminence Thritsab Rinpoche & Drikung Kagyu Lamas.
There is a change in the team of Sangha on stage leading the chant.
The same hugh picture of Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara.
(Somehow, on the 2nd day afternoon, there was a mixed feeling of touch moments when glancing at the picture that I just couldn't resist photographing the same picture again)
Quite a number of familar faces among the participants...

And no more red chanting books as they project the Tibetian, Mandarin and English translated chants and praises on screen
Which I somehow miss flipping of the physical pages:-p

Om Mani Padme Hum !
Another successful accomplishment of 100 million!
[From Participants during the retreat: 100,985,550
(after the deduction of 5 % due to sleepiness, missing, omissions, unclear chanting etc); and From Online pledged participants: 24,174,000: The total Mani count: 125,159,550 ]

A cake was baked in celebration of 10th Annual Retreat accomplishment. Wished we could have a piece of the cake to try...:P
Anyway, greatly appreciate the organiser, volunteers, Rinpoche & Venerables/Lamas who led us through another wonderful retreat.

We wish they could organise the 11th retreat back at Bright Hill Temple which many participants who started their retreats there spoken to, still prefered the energy there.

I really miss the previous years' main chanting master's leading us.Got too used to his momentum etc. I guess shouldn't get too attached to the conditions but to focus on the chanting and its benefits for all mother sentient beings.

Yes, missed Lama Dawa's chant too, wonder if the change is to groom more Venerables to be in the "choir"?
Noticed that Lama Dawa was present at the retreat sitting at the front rows for Venerables.
But if you attend full time 4 days, you would had noticed that the new team who took turns to chant improved over the days or it could also be us getting accustomed to their momentum.
I always occupy seats not too near the stage but I think this is the 1st time I noticed Rinpoche joined in leading the chant too and I think the team seems to be having an enjoyable time themselves too.

Hi, i chance upon your blog when i google on "mani retreat". i also took part as full timer for the past 3 retreats at Suntec. Still prefer Kong Meng San as venue for the retreat as Suntec has got more distractions eg shopping mall and coffee breaks.

yes i also notice this is the first time Rinpoche leads the chanting. still prefer Lama Dawa as chant master.

Rejoice :)
